When your pets have accidents on your carpets, the problem goes beyond the surface. It seeps deep down to the carpet backing and the floor underneath. If your pet has a favorite spot, it can lead to significant damage to both the carpet and the flooring. But it’s not just the damage; it’s the smell too. As the urine dries, it becomes more concentrated and pungent because the liquid evaporates, and regular cleaning won’t get rid of this odor.

Chem-Dry came up with P.U.R.T.® to tackle those tough stains and odors. When P.U.R.T.® gets to the source of the smell, it immediately starts a chemical reaction that gets rid of the urine odor.

Here’s How the P.U.R.T.® Process Works:

1. We figure out where the odor is coming from and how bad it is. Then, we rinse and clean the carpet or rug with hot water to get rid of most of the urine crystals.
2. In the worst cases, we might need to lift the carpet in the areas with suspected damage.* If needed, we’ll replace the padding.*
3. If it’s necessary, we might apply an odor-blocking shellac to the sub-floor.*
4. We’ll heavily apply P.U.R.T.® to the tack strip, sub-floor, baseboards, and carpet backing. It’s important to make sure all the affected areas get dampened.*
5. Over the next 24 to 36 hours, the ingredients in P.U.R.T.® will react with the urine and break down the components causing the odor.
